Giammarco Casani has been performing for twelve years as principal clarinet of the “Orchestra Sinfonica di Roma” in the most famous concert halls worldwide: Berlin, Brussels, Madrid, St. Petersburg, Rio de Janeiro, London, Vienna, Graz and Salzburg. Starring in 2008 of a long tournèe in China, and in 2010 in the United States.
He also worked as Principal Clarinet of “Teatro Lirico di Cagliari”, “Orchestra da Camera di Mantova”, “Orchestra Sinfonica Abruzzese”, “Roma Sinfonietta”, Rai Symphony Orchestra of Rome, "Orchestre national et Théâtre du Capitole de Toulouse", “Orchestra Mozart”, “Orchestra Nazionale dell’ Accademia di Santa Cecilia” and "Mahler Chamber Orchestra". 
Since 2011 he has been a member of the Lucerne Festival Orchestra conducted by Claudio Abbado.
During his career as a musician he has performed with the greatest conductors, such as Yuri Ahronovitch, Claudio Abbado, Andris Nelson, Othmar Maga, Ennio Morricone, Yang Yang, Diego Matheuz, Anton Nanut, Yeruham Scharovsky, Yu Feng, Milan Turkovic, Hansjörg Schellemberger, Gabriel Chmura, Julian Kovatchev, and Oliver Knussen.
Born in 1973 in Viterbo, Giammarco Casani breathes since his childhood the great musical tradition and the artistic ferment of his land, also developing a passion for conducting that will culminate after diploma in clarinet at the Conservatory of Santa Cecilia in Rome in 1994, when, very young, he becomes conductor of the local band of “Monte Romano”.
Invited to begin the study of conducting by Yuri Ahronovitch, he continues his studies with Ennio Nicotra, working as assistant conductor with Yeruham Scharovsky and Othmar Maga.
During his career he conducts several symphony orchestras and chamber ensembles, including the Arts Academy Youth Orchestra and the “Orchestra Sinfonica di Roma”, whose in the summer of 2014 he takes the conduction trying to change the orchestra’s fate. Under his direction, the orchestra performes in occasion of charity initiatives proving a great success of public.
During his training he has developed a particular interest in chamber music, which has led him to perfect himself by attending the courses of Mº Alain Meunier at the “Accademia Chigiana” of Siena. He is engaged in the diffusion of chamber music’s repertoire with Wind Quintet “Monesis” and in a duo with pianist Désirée Scuccuglia.
Giammarco Casani has always been committed to the enhancement of Italian music repertoire, invited in 2005 for the 20th anniversary of the Fadjr International Music Festival of Tehran, where he performed the Mercadante’s Concerto and “Introduzione Tema e Variazioni” by Rossini, he also recorded the concertino for clarinet and chamber orchestra by F. Busoni and Mercadante’s Concerto for Naxos with “Orchestra Sinfonica di Roma”.
He is also involved in an intense scholar activity, teaching master classes in Italy, China and abroad. He was Assistant Professor at the University of Katowice (Poland) currently is a professor at the academy AIMART in Rome and professor at the Accademia Italiana del Clarinetto of Camerino (Italy). He has been called as a member of the jury of "Beijing International Music Competition" in 2009 and 2013, and international competition "Audi Mozart" in Rovereto.
Giammarco Casani continues his studies with MºDonald Montanaro, former principal clarinet of Philadelphia Orchestra, with whom he keeps collaborating, trying to bring back to Italy the ancient knowledge that great Italian clarinet players brought with them, establishing in the United States the parameters of methodology of studying and teaching the clarinet.
