Bruno Bonansea plays the B40 Lyre mouthpiece with V•12 #3.5 and the OPTIMUM ligature

Bruno Bonansea was born in 1985 in Lorraine. He started learning the clarinet when he was 6, by playing in the local windband. Very talented, he rapidly attends the “Conservatoire National de Région” (CNR) of Metz where he obtains the highest diploma when he is only 15 years old. Then he goes to Paris, studying both the clarinet and the musicology, at the prestigious “Sorbonne” University. In 2006 he is accepted at the “Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique” (CNSMD) of Lyon where he studies with Jacques Di Donato, Nicolas Baldeyrou and Robert Bianciotto. He graduates with the highest distinction in 2011.
 Passionate with orchestral playing, he is principal clarinet in the "Orchestre National de France" since 2013. Before, he was principal clarinet of the “Orchestre de Picardie” in Amiens. He was member of the “Orchestre Français des Jeunes” (OFJ) in 2004 and 2005. In 2008 he was invited to take part in the Gustav Mahler Jungendorchester (GMJO) international tour. He is laureate from several competitions: 1st Prize of the “Concours d’interprétation du Lions Club”, 1st Prize of the “Yamaha Music Foundation of Europe”, 1st Prize of the ” Concours Européen de Musique en Picardie”…
Bruno has also always been attracted by other kinds of music: he also turns towards jazz, improvisation, modern and folk musics. Since 2007 he has a duet called “Klezrem’x” with the double bass player Jérémy Bruyère, and he regularly takes part in various projects.
